Priyanka’s Barfi! has been submitted to the Academy Awards for consideration in the foreign film category, and the dusky beauty is certainly keeping her fingers crossed
Priyanka Chopra is beaming with confidence these days. The 30-year-old actor is happy not only about the way in which her debut single In My City is being received by music aficionados, but is also super excited that her film Barfi! has made it to the list of this year’s Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars. The Anurag Basu directorial venture starring Ranbir Kapoor, Illeana D’cruz and Priyanka will lock horns with 71 other movies vying for the final nominee list. The movie is one of the biggest box office hits in India, raking over Rs 100 crores and it remains to be seen if it can impress the jury in US.
Will Barfi! bag the most coveted trophy and make India proud? What does Priyanka think about its chances especially when the competition is so fierce? And what makes the film stand out and impress the jury? “The film reflects our culture. And you have three extremely commercial actors who are taking a chance playing parts that are not conventional. Plus, the film has been accepted critically and commercially across the world. It changes your perspective on life,” said Priyanka in an interview.
We second PeeCee’s opinion. We at BollywoodLife are equally excited as Priyanka and the cast of the film is about the movie’s prospect at the Oscars. Now you tell us if Barfi! deserves the nomination, and the most coveted trophy.
