Akshay Kumar & Deepika Attending World Kabaddi Cup

Ludhiana is eagerly waiting for Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Chitrangada Singh and Akshay Kumar who will set the stage on the closing ceremony of World Kabaddi Cup in the city on Sunday.


Punjabi ‘puttar’ Akshay Kumar, model-turned-actor Deepika Padukone and ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ star Chitrangada Singh would be the prominent personalities for the closing ceremony of the World Kabaddi Cup 2011.

Punjab sports director Pargat Singh said, “The three have confirmed their participation and will regale the crowd with their mesmerizing performances during the closing ceremony. It will be as grand as the inaugural one.”

Punjab Kabaddi Association president and former Punjab minister Sikandar Singh Malooka said, “Akshay is like one of our own and will participate as a spirited Punjabi.”

Countdown has begun for the final match of Kabbadi World Cup which is to be held in Luthiana on November 20. Against the Rs 10 lakh spent on upkeep of stadium in 2010, this year the expenditure has increased to over Rs 50 lakh.

Police Commissioner S S Chauhan said that adequate security arrangements have been made for the smooth running of the event. “The main attraction of the show will be display screens. Over 10 such screens will be placed in prominent areas of the city so that commuters can also watch the gala event,” added DC Rahul Tiwari.

The entry for the closing ceremony and the final ties will be free but on November 20 traffic movement will be restricted in the areas around the stadium and the information regarding the change in traffic routes had been made public.

Now the city anxiously awaits Deepika’s moves and Akshay’s daredevil stunts.
